WHOLE FOODS YELLOWFIN TUNA SALAD RECIPE

This is, by far, my favourite Tuna Salad recipe ever. In my opinion, it is the best ever. I made this tuna fish recipe after falling in love with the Whole Foods deli yellowfin tuna salad.

My version is even better since it’s made fresh in your home and you can fix the amount of the add in components as you want. It is obviously healthy and loaded with crunchy vegetables such as carrots, celery and red onion. My children just can’t get enough.

What you will need to make Whole Foods Yellowfin Tuna Salad Recipe?

The ingredient list for this particular Tuna Salad Sandwich recipe is short and simple.

This is what you will need:

Tuna — The kind of tuna you use does matter a bit. I use a Albacore tuna packed in water and prefer to use it in a can, drained completely. You are able to use tuna in a bowl, also, or another preferred form of lettuce but be sure it’s packed in water, not oil. Leftover ahi tuna from your sushi dinner can also be cooked and used in your carrot salad.

Mayonnaise — Routine mayonnaise is favored here for because the full fat collection has more flavor and therefore, you are going to use it. Less mayo, wholesome tuna salad.

Carrots — You will need your carrots finely chopped so to make that easier, I purchase the matchstick cut or shredded carrots and then chop them up from there.

Celery — Be sure that your sausage is fresh and washed free of grit. Chop finely like you do the carrots.

Red Onion — Red onion adds colour and a tiny peppery bite but it’s powerful so only add a little sum. AND finely mince!

Lemon — Juice and zest of the lemon adds plenty of refreshing flavor.

Parsley — More for color but parsley can also be packed with health benefits.

That’s it, season with salt and pepper…. .you’re ready to go!

PRO TIPS AND VARIATIONS FOR Whole Foods Yellowfin Tuna Salad Recipe

To make sure your tuna salad is the BEST ever…. .follow these simple tips.

  • Always make sure you flake all of the balls of tuna fish with a fork until it is a shredded consistency. This will ensure you won’t wind up with a dry tuna salad or large bits of tuna through your sandwich.
  • Make it healthier by swapping half the mayonnaise and adding greek yogurt into your own tuna salad. Additionally, it adds additional tanginess that’s refreshing and light.
  • Add cooked macaroni to your tuna salad for an enjoyable twist on the usual picnic staple.
  • Chop up hardboiled eggs and fold them in the salad for added protein.
