Southern Smoked Chicken Salad Recipe

2 cups shredded smoked chicken (you can use leftover smoked chicken or buy pre-smoked chicken).

1/2 cup mayonnaise.

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard.

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar.

1 teaspoon honey.

1/2 cup celery, finely chopped.

1/4 cup red onion, finely diced.

1/4 cup sweet pickles, finely chopped.

Salt and pepper to taste.

Optional: a dash of hot sauce for some Southern heat.

  • In a large bowl, combine the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, and honey. Whisk them together until well combined.
  • Add the shredded smoked chicken to the bowl and toss until the chicken is well coated with the dressing.
  • Add in the chopped celery, red onion, and sweet pickles. Mix everything together until all the ingredients are evenly distributed.
  • Season the salad with salt and pepper to taste. If you like a bit of heat, throw in a dash of hot sauce.
  • Cover the bowl and refrigerate the smoked chicken salad for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors meld.
  • Serve the salad on a bed of fresh greens, in a sandwich, or with crackers. Enjoy the smoky, Southern goodness!
  • Feel free to adjust the quantities and ingredients based on your preferences. Let me know how it turns out!
