Ingredients

  1. Semi-sweet 14oz. Chocolate is sweet.
  2. 1 pound butter
  3. 12 ounces granulated sugar
  4. 4 ounces flour
  5. a dozen eggs
  6. Crushed Walnuts 12 oz.
  7. Extract of Vanilla

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 300°F. Melt the chocolate and butter together in a double boiler. In a mixing basin, combine the sugar and flour.
  • Mix the chocolate and flour mixes. 4 to 5 minutes of stirring. Continue mixing after adding the eggs.
  • Fill a 9×12 baking sheet halfway with the ingredients. Sprinkle walnuts on top and gently push them into the mixture with your hand. 30-40 minutes in the oven
  • Brownies are done when the edges start to crisp, and the centre has risen about 1/4 inch.

Glaze:

Combine 1 cup water, 1 cup apricot preserves, and 1 teaspoon unflavored gelatin in a saucepan. Bring to a boil for two minutes after thoroughly mixing. While the brownies are still warm, brush on the hot glaze.

Notes

Because of the richness of the recipe, the brownie will remain “gooey” with a toothpick in the centre when properly baked.
