How to Make Baked Lemon Pepper Wings

These Baked Lemon Pepper Wings are just as crispy as they are fried, but so much easier to make. The fresh touch of lemon and the contrast of pepper make them irresistible!


The Seasoning

  • ¾ tsp baking powder (baking powder) , NOT baking soda
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder


  • 450 chicken wings
  • 2 tbsp butter (30 g), melted
  • 1 lemon , the zest
  • ground black pepper to taste
  • salt to taste


Step-by-step elaboration

The Seasoning

  • Add all the ingredients to a bowl, mix well and reserve.

Preparing the Chicken Wings

  • Line a baking sheet with aluminium foil and place a rack on top. Spray the rack with a little oil. Reserve.
  • Wash the wings and cut them in two if they are whole, discard the tip. Drain and dry them well with kitchen paper.
  • Then sprinkle them with the seasoning. Spread all the wings well with the seasoning. Place them on the rack leaving a little space between them.


  • Bake in a preheated oven with a fan at 225ºC for 20 minutes, in the middle of the oven.
  • Remove from the oven and flip the wings. Continue cooking for another 20 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and flip them once more. Continue cooking for another 10 minutes or until crisp.
  • Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 5 minutes. Meanwhile, in a bowl put the lemon zest, butter, black pepper and salt. Mix well. Add the wings to the bowl and cover them well with the sauce. Serve immediately.
